At 20:30 on Thursday, April 9, Station 20 was alerted to Evans City Rd. in Forward Township for a service call. A tanker trailer was on its side in a parking lot, spilling an unknown amount of vegetable oil. Upon arrival of Engine 20, Safety Officer 20 requested Butler County Hazmat Team 100. In the meantime, crews continued the work begun by the employees of the facility by preventing spillage into a nearby creek. The hazmat team arrived, checked on the containment of the product, then went about drilling a hole in the tanker to remove some of the remaining product. The tanker was later righted and Team 100 and Station 20 units cleared the scene at approximately 23:00.
